When it comes to Google, we tend to place our complete trust in the company for producing the highest-quality and most useful products. From Google’s powerful search engine to its range of flagship Pixel smartphones, we know that the company has a keen sense of what its customers want and delivers exactly that.
Back in May of this year, Google announced that it was working on releasing a new Pixel Tablet. This announcement came at the I/O in May and was met with a lot of excitement. However, we had to wait a few more months for more information about the Pixel Tablet. In early October, Google’s product manager Rose Yao let us in on a few of the key features we can expect from the Pixel Tablet.
The stand-out feature of the Pixel Tablet that stood out to us is the wireless charging dock that can turn the tablet into a smart display. When docked, the tablet looks like a smart home display, very similar to the Google Nest Hub Max. However, you get the advantage of using it as a tablet or as a smart display whenever you want.
Similarities Between The Pixel Tablet And Amazon’s Fire Tablet
When connected to the wireless charging speaker dock, the Pixel Tablet allows you to make use of Google Assistant and the Home app to control your smart home, too. While this is impressive and quite useful for those of us with the smart home setup, we can’t exactly say that the Pixel Tablet smart display is a one-of-a-kind introduction. Previously, Amazon offered similar products like the Fire tablet, which can be connected to the Amazon charging dock and can be used as a smart display, too.
Other Stand-out Features Of The Pixel Tablet
What makes the Pixel tablet stand out from any of the other tablets Google has produced before? Well, one thing is that the Pixel Tablet, like the Pixel phones, uses Google’s Tensor G2 processor to function.
This means that it has a nearly identical user interface to the Pixel phones, based on the Material You Google language. Not only is the user interface sleek, easy to use, and streamlined, but so is the physical appearance of the Pixel Tablet. The tablet’s body is made entirely from 100% recycled aluminum, which is then reinforced with a nano-ceramic coating. Not only does this add strength to the tablet, but it gives it a porcelain appearance that is difficult to replicate.
Overall, the new Pixel Tablet sounds highly promising, and we can’t wait to hear about more features to look out for. With the promise of updated software, fewer bugs, and more app support, we can’t help but get our hopes up for when the Pixel Tablet is released.
